Tanker Offshore

Received this 10 minutes ago.

———————————

Good afternoon Paul and Dan,

We have been informed that the U.S. Coast Guard has directed the LNG transport ship that’s scheduled to take on LNG from our facility to anchor overnight tonight offshore from your communities.

The ship is expected to arrive after sundown tonight, set anchor in the USCG-designated area, and depart around sunrise tomorrow for our offshore platform.

We have been reassured that this is not going to be a routine activity. We have been told that this action is related to the security screening process that’s part of the Coast Guard’s security program for LNG transport vessels.

I’ll keep you advised if we learn of any change in plans.

Thank you.
Karl

Tanker anchored off of Cove Point

I JUST RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING EMAIL FROM DOMINION…

Good morning, Paul.

Alan Spahr was kind enough to provide your email address so that I can share some information about the ship that’s anchored offshore right now. You may wish to share it with the members of your Homeowners’ Association.

An LNG transport ship has received authorization from the U.S. Coast Guard to set anchor offshore from the Dominion Energy Cove Point (DECP) LNG terminal pending berthing at the terminal’s offshore platform.

The ship’s arrival is related to the final commissioning process for the DECP liquefaction process. Production of LNG began in late January.

Please consider me your point of contact with the Cove Point LNG terminal and let me know of any issues, concerns or suggestions you may have.

I look forward to meeting you some day.

Thanks.
Karl
